The Pelican

With its home port in Weymouth, the six cabins of The Training Ship Pelican of London can be chartered for days - or longer periods - under sail to experience life in a true tall ship.

Originally built as a trawler in France in 1948, The Pelican remained as such until 1967 and was converted to her current configuration between 1996 and 2007.

The Pelican also offers the chance for students on their gap year to go on a trans-atlantic cruise with the opportunity - when on land - to work with a local community project or - when at sea - to study marine life or meteorology.

The Pelican is not always available from Weymouth Harbour so check availability.
