Portland Castle

The beautiful Portland Castle overlooking the Harbour has a long and intricate history. Originally constructed by Henry VII to defend the coastline against the Spanish and French navies, Portland Castle was again modified to provide even better defence. Renovated and refurbished down the years, the fortress contains a great series of both Civil War and World War I artifacts to admire.
